The most powerful association with VDNH for any person is the arch of the main entrance to the Exhibition, which opens the Central Alley. At the top of the arch "Tractor driver and collective farmer", an allegorical sheaf of ears-heavy industry and agriculture — is raised to a 32-meter height.

The arch or Gate was erected during a large-scale reconstruction of the exhibition in the 50s of the last century in the spirit of the architecture of Ancient Rome. They symbolize the victory of the Soviet Union in the Great Patriotic War. The design of the arch is executed in the style of the Stalinist Empire. It consists of six pairs of columns, which are decorated with bas-reliefs with images of agricultural workers. Two symmetrical wings are attached to the arch, which form a semicircle. It is quite obvious that the arch resembles the most famous symbol of the defeated Berlin – the Brandenburg Gate.

The tradition of installing arches (gates) came to Russia in 1721, when Moscow met the Emperor Peter I who took the title. If you look closely at the wings of the arch, you can see small windows.
